Hello again!

Tue Sep 22, 2009, 11:44 PM
Hello to all! I have been away for quite a while....after summer session was over, I actually found a new job. And I have been REALLY busy and REALLY tired. I have been meaning to put up my work, but I haven't found the time. I finally got motivated enough to just submit my assignments (or at least the ones that don't look terrible, haha). So here is my first crack at art school, and this is the work that came of it. I am actually proud of myself, I think that as the semester went on I learned a lot and I think my work really improved.
The only sad thing is, after classes were over I tried to draw just for fun, and I COULDN'T DRAW ANYTHING!! Everything was coming out terrible....so that was discouraging. Plus, I have not been able to draw anything lately. The exhaustion and stress form work is kinda acting as my artist block right now. :-( Plus, I took this semester off so I can focus on work, and hopefully be able to afford another semester. T_T Oh well, hopefully things turn around and I can get into my grove again.
Well, that is enough depressingness. Hopefully you guys like my new work...and hopefully I can add more to it soon! :-)

Almost done

Fri Jul 24, 2009, 3:11 PM
Well, I am almost done with my first semester at the Academy of Art.....Wow! It has been a lot of fun, pain, joy, agony, and time...lots and lots of time. I know I haven't had a real conversation or spent some quality time with my husband in a while. Although the projects take a lot of time, I have really learned a lot. And I am really proud of myself that I have gone this far already and how much my work has improved. So I am really excited that the semester is almost done, but at the same time I will be sad when it is. Maybe when I am done I will post some work...its gonna be different since most of my work it animated looking, and the work we have done is all traditional art, so I gotta figure out where exactly to post it, lol. Well, I'm done for now I guess....got to get back to work...still a lot of homework left. :-)

Let it begin!

Sooooooooooooo, I just started school today! YAY! I am officially attending the Academy of Art Institute online classes. So far I am super excited and super scared. I was looking at all the work, and first of all I had to buy a TON of art supplies (lots of money T_T) and I just signed in today to start going through the work. It seems like there is quite a bit of stuff I have to do. I'm sure most of the people in the class have taken art and this is a no-brainer, but I don't even know how I'm going to manage my time with all the work....especially since I have a short attention span SQUIRREL! see what I mean...haha, ok maybe I'm not that bad, but I know its gonna be an issue.
Well, I am still excited to get started and learn new things and improve my skills, and hopefully meet new people and make some new friends. So I will keep updating my progress, and maybe if I like what I do I will post my homework on here too. =P

YAY! School!

Ok, I know I only posted last week that I wanted any advice about art school but I just made a decision. :D Well, I am not super excited to be working at my current job, so any excuse to get out will be greatly accepted :P Well, with a lot of encouraging from my husband I decided to go the Academy of Art Institute for a 2nd Bachelors degree in illustration. YAY! I am going to apply for financial aid and hopefully with qualify (which I think I will since my hubby and I are poor T_T ). I will still be at my job though, but luckily my boss worked out for me to work part-time (everyone is gunning for my office now, but I think my boss is just gonna make me partner up with another person he is hiring soon). I don't know if part-time work will even help much with our expenses, and I don't know yet how extensive classes are so I don't know if I will have time to work on school and work part-time....but I guess I will find out the hard way. Luckily my hubby is super supportive and says that if I need to quit completely he will be happy with me just going to school.....awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, he is so sweet ^^ I just want to be able to finish off my classes as fast as possible and hopefully get a job doing what I enjoy (and then hopefully be able to contribute more to paying bills, haha). Anyways, I am super excited (and of course nervous) but hopefully things will go well. If any of you guys have taken any courses or is currently attending The Academy of Art Institute, can you please give me advice or a heads-up on how classes work? I would appreciate it. Thank you! :D Well, this post has gone long enough (sorry when I'm excited I always have a lot to say, haha). BYE!

PS. I am currently in an art block, so if anyone has any good suggestions to get me out of it....like drawing ideas....plz lemme know. THANX!

Hello

Sun May 17, 2009, 3:31 PM
Well, I have been on deviant art for a month now, YAY! And I am starting to get more confident with my art. I have had a lot of positive responses to my work and it really encourages me. My husband always gives me support, but c'mon...he's my husband, he has to be nice :P Haha. I mean, his support really helps, but it's nice to know other people like my work too.
I have so far only posted past work. I have been busy at work so I get home too tired to start a new project (plus with the hockey playoffs going on, I have been busy watching that too :P....poor Ducks :( )
Well, right now I am looking to go back to school. I graduated from college a while back, but I want to go back for art now. I was always too afraid to study art because I didn't think I was that good. But I realized, how else am I supposed to get better? Right? (at least that is what my husband keeps telling me) I just don't know what is a good place to study that is still affordable. Right now I'm looking into the Art Institute in San Fran and doing courses online (I think right now online courses are my only options with work during the day). So if anybody has any suggestions or information please let me know! I would really appreciate the help. Thanx!
Well I think that is all for now, I won't bore you guys with my first journal :P
THANK YOU ALL AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
